Social Responsibility

As a proud member of Grupo Bimbo, Canada Bread supports the company’s global Sustainability platform. Our programs aim to make a difference in the communities that we live and work in, as we advance towards Our Purpose of building a sustainable, highly productive and deeply humane company.
Together, we work each and every day to bring to life our company's belief that We are One Community. We are deeply committed to improving and developing our local communities through associate programs and initiatives that focus on preserving the environment, reducing our carbon footprint, decreasing waste and promoting physical activation and wellness.

Volunteer Program
Volunteering is another way that our associates give back to their communities. Most charitable organizations rely heavily on volunteers to meet the needs of those they serve. We encourage our associates to get involved in their communities through our corporate-sponsored volunteer program. Check out our associate volunteer initiatives here
-
Donations Program
We are pleased to donate products with a limited shelf-life or surplus stock to help those in need. To do so, we are establishing a donation partnership program to help support local food banks in an effort to put our delicious and nutritious baked goods and snacks in the hands of all.
If you represent a Food Bank or an organization that distributes food to Food Banks and would like more information on our donation partnership opportunities please contact us at BimboCanadaCommunications@GrupoBimbo.com.

Thrift Store Discount Program for Physical Activation
At Canada Bread, we recognize that product discounts are a way for our business to contribute to the local organizations supporting physical activation initiatives and activities, while also helping manage product life cycle and eliminating waste in our Thrift Stores.
Our Thrift Store Discount Program for Physical Activation is consistent with our global sustainability efforts and promotion of physical activation [1] and reflects Our Purpose of building a sustainable, highly productive and deeply humane company. This is rooted in Our Beliefs with special consideration for We are One Community and demonstrates our culture of continuous improvement and our commitment to improving and developing our local communities.
If you represent an organization that supports physical activation initiatives and activities and would like more information on our Thrift Store Discount Program for Physical Activation please contact one of our local Thrift Stores.
[1] As part of a global movement to encourage physical activity, a cornerstone of our Sustainability Platform, Canada Bread hosts its annual Global Energy Race (10K run and 3K walk). In each city, around the world where a race is held, two (2) slices of bread are donated to a local Food Bank. In 2016, we donated more than 10,000 slices. In 2017, we donated 20,000 slices.
