Run or Walk in the Global Energy Race by Dempster’s on September 24

As part of our commitment to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity, Canada Bread Company, Limited invites Canadians to join them at the second annual Global Energy Race by Dempster’s on Sunday, September 24, 2017.  Taking place in Toronto, ON, Richmond BC, and Quebec City, QC, the 3KM walk/run and 10KM race will help support local food banks by donating two slices of bread for every kilometre completed by participants!

 

Toronto, ON

Location: Ashbridges Bay Park, Toronto, ON

Date: Sunday, September 24, 2017

Race Time: 8:50 am EST

Race Ambassador: Adam Van Koeverden, retired four-time Olympic medalist in Kayaking (Gold in 2004, Silver in 2008 and 2012, and Bronze in 2004.

Local Food Back: North York Harvest Food Bank.

 

Richmond, BC

Location: Richmond Olympic Oval, Richmond, BC

Date: Sunday, September 24, 2017

Race Time: 8:50 am PST

Race Ambassador: Geroy Simon, who was inducted in the CFL Hall of Fame in 2017 and three-time Grey Cup champion and the league's all-time leader with 16,352 receiving yards. He was also named the CFL's most outstanding player in 2006. During a career that spanned 15 years, he played for Winnipeg (1999-2000), B.C. (2001-2012) and Saskatchewan (2013).

Race Ambassador: Alex Harvey who is expected to compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Cross-Country Skiing, two-time world champion and five time medalist.

Registration Details for the Global Energy Race by Dempster’s:

Registration is $30 for the 10K run and $20 for the 3K family walk/run with children 16-years old and under invited to register and participate for free. Come out, take part and enjoy a pre-race snack and a barbecue following the race featuring Dempster's products, entertainment, giveaways and activities for the whole family.
